About me
Before design
I graduated from James Madison University in Virginia. I didn’t get into design right away, first working at the Pentagon as an analyst and then at MicroStrategy as a Knowledge Base manager and editor.
My design background
My first design job was in banking and, 20+ years later, I’ve never looked back.
Design is such a fun, complex, rewarding space to be in.
After 16 years as an individual contributor, I moved into a manager role. I’ve been leading and building teams for about 8 years.
My values
Joy
It’s always worth finding ways to bring joy into the experiences we create — and into how we work.Adaptability
The only constant is change, so it’s very important to be able to adapt and to handle ambiguity.Team
Operating as a team, regardless of function, is the only way to build great products — whether you’re in design, engineering, product, marketing, data science or any other team.Integrity
Honesty, being accountable, standing up for what’s right. It’s not easy, but it’s important.Curiosity
This is one of the key elements of life. With it, you can learn, grow, be open to new ideas, and better understand others’ viewpoints.
Outside of work
I live in Dublin, California. I have three cute rescue pups: Harper, Jax, and Finnegan. I love to read and hang out with my family.
