About me

Before design

I graduated from James Madison University in Virginia. I didn’t get into design right away, first working at the Pentagon as an analyst and then at MicroStrategy as a Knowledge Base manager and editor.

My design background

My first design job was in banking and, 20+ years later, I’ve never looked back.

Design is such a fun, complex, rewarding space to be in.

After 16 years as an individual contributor, I moved into a manager role. I’ve been leading and building teams for about 8 years.

My values

  • Joy
It’s always worth finding ways to bring joy into the experiences we create — and into how we work.

  • Adaptability
The only constant is change, so it’s very important to be able to adapt and to handle ambiguity.

  • Team
Operating as a team, regardless of function, is the only way to build great products — whether you’re in design, engineering, product, marketing, data science or any other team.

  • Integrity
Honesty, being accountable, standing up for what’s right. It’s not easy, but it’s important.

  • Curiosity
This is one of the key elements of life. With it, you can learn, grow, be open to new ideas, and better understand others’ viewpoints.

Outside of work

I live in Dublin, California. I have three cute rescue pups: Harper, Jax, and Finnegan. I love to read and hang out with my family.
